I bought this grill last week & it is WONDERFUL! Every time we make something to eat we think about grilling it. Last night we made grilled stuffed burritos. They were GREAT! Better than any we have eaten anywhere. I love the temp dials. Having the on/off dial is great. I can leave it pluged in & turn it on as needed. I looked for a few months before I decided on this one. I am sooooo glad I did. Hope you all enjoy yours as much as we do.

I am ashamed to admit it, but I love this product in the kitchen. I seldom use the stove any more as you can do just about anything with the griddler, and with less kitchen mess, except brew coffee. Great for lightning fast bacon, grilled meats, french toast, panini sandwiches, and other things I have yet to discover. Hate cleaning a messy stove and this can save a couple, or single person, lots of time in the kitchen.

Great multi-function appliance

We've had this about two weeks now and like it a lot. Two of my favorite sandwichs for lunch are Reubens and Cubans. This was one of the main reasons for buying the Griddler. I had to tell my wife we could get rid of the George Foreman and an electric griddle before it could come into the house. So far I've made paninis for all of us, Reubens for the oldest boy and me, Cubans for my wife and me, burgers for all, and pancakes for all. The unit does appear well built and the 3 year warranty suggests Cuisinart has confidence in it. It heats up fast and, contrary to another review, the top and bottom seem to be very close in heat. After having the George Foreman for years and struggling to clean it without getting it wet the pop off dishwasher safe plates are a joy and were another big plus with my wife. The exterior of the top does get hot and could burn you if you're not careful. As long as you just use the big handle to open and close the top you won't have any problem. The heating is a little uneven on both plates when using it as a griddle but not so much it's an issue. The heatings going to be a little uneven on any consumer grade counter top electric griddle. I can't attest to the longevity of the product but so far we are pleased with it and would buy it again or recommend it to others.

Needs some improvement.........

I've owned the Cuisinart Griddler for quite some time now. It's great for sandwiches, re-heating pizza slices etc. The only drawback that I can see is the fact that even though the grease drains away from meats, I still find it a problem grilling hamburgers or steaks. The immediate countertop surface right around the grill ends up with a fine mist of grease from the spattering of the meat while grilling. I've tried grilling at lower temperatures but still have the same problem. It appears since the grease particles can't go up, they go out to the sides. Not a fun thing to clean, grease on granite. Other than that, it's been a handy kitchen appliance.

Very handy

I have used mine quite a few times - I cook vegetables, and the best thing is to buy a Cuban sandwich from the grocery store deli - then grill it at home - half at a time. It is also great for a steak and grilled broccoli. Love it.
